Merida is only minutes away by air from the U.S. Gulf coast and has convenient transportation by land or air to the beach resorts of Cancun and Cozumel. A subtropical, warm and humid climate year round is one of its great assets. It provides the possibility for beach lovers to go for a swim to the Gulf anytime (just 30 minutes away). Merida is a cosmopolitan city with all kinds of cultural and sports activities available for entertainment and educational enrichment. Major Mayan archeological sites are easily accessible.

CENTRO DE IDIOMAS DEL SURESTE

CENTRO DE IDIOMAS DEL SURESTE offers a choice of three locations for students. The downtown location is an air-conditioned converted office building featuring a language lab and a small resource area. This location provides easy access to the many attractions of the city itself. CIS Norte and CIS Poniente are converted residences with classrooms, language lab, and resource area. The suburban locations offer students a pleasant garden and tranquil setting. We offer a choice between 'downtown' and 'suburban' only.

Intensive Spanish - Group 6 : maximum of 6 students per class. Price includes: 25 lessons per week, accommodations in host family, single or double room, meals (full board) and one field trip per week:

Starting Dates 2010: Classes start every Monday for all levels.

The school also arranges evening conversation exchanges with Mexican students, according to the interests of the students.

Yucatan Summer Spanish Institute 2010: July 5 through July 30 2010. An intensive cultural enrichment course in Spanish, including 4 weeks of classes in Mayan history and civilization and Latin American literature; 4 weeks of homestay and meals; and several field trips to archeological sites as well as encounters with authors and related professionals. Appropriate for Spanish teachers and other advanced learners. USD 1,870.

Holidays 2010: 1 January, 1 February, 15-16 February, 15 March, 1 May, 3-4-5 May, 15 May, 1 November, 19 November. No classes are held during holidays.

Accommodations 2010:

HOMESTAYS are located in the suburbs, and may require a short bus ride to the school. Food is usually Yucatan style with no hot peppers (unless specifically asked for). Accommodations and meals are included in course prices (see above).
