FRENCH SUMMER CAMP AND SPORTS PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS in TROISSY, FRANCE

The Excellencia French Summer Camp Language Center (formerly known as C.I.L.S. Centre International Linguistique et Sportif) is located in the very small town of Troissy (population 900), situated in the Champagne region of France and 65 miles from Paris. The 12 acre grounds are situated on the banks of the Marne river. Champagne offers visitors many varied attractions such as Reims, Epernay, Troyes, Château-Thierry, and other famous sites. The diversity of its charming villages nestled among the vineyards never fails to win the admiration of its visitors. This perfect location offers a safe environment for children and teens.
Facilities: Excellencia French Summer Camp
Overview: Excellencia (formerly CILS), is located in a 12 acre closed campus in a park like setting. The French Summer Camp campus contains the main Chateau, separate dormitories, classroom buildings, sports facilities and spacious grounds. Open throughout the year, the campus offers a great number of leisure facilities, whether related to sports or culture. A large shaded park and a relaxation area that looks onto a terrace are also available.
Program Ages:
The Excellencia French Summer Camp for children and teenagers is offered to students from 7 to 18 years of age.
Note for parents of young children: A very limited number of accommodations in studio and one-bedroom apartments is available next to the campus for those parents who wish to stay in the area while their child/children participate in the program. The apartments are located next door to the closed campus and have separate access. Parents may visit with their children during the evening, but do not have full access to the campus for security reasons. Please contact us for additional information and rental fees.

French Language Classes:
15 French language lessons in small groups (paired according to level) are offered each week.
The courses follow a progression based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which describes communication objectives (listening, speaking, reading and writing) per level of proficiency :
•Elementary User : Levels A1 (Breakthrough or Beginner) and A2 (Elementary)
•Independent User : Levels B1 (Threshold or Intermediate) and B2 (Vantage or Upper intermediate)
•Proficient User : Levels C1 (Effective Operational Proficiency or Advanced) and C2 (Mastery or Proficiency)
Upon arrival, students take a language test in order to determine their level.
French Summer Camp Accommodations:
The Excellencia dorms, located in the heart of the park, are spacious and equipped so as to provide students with maximum comfort and a peaceful atmosphere. Boys and girls are accommodated in separate buildings and share rooms with 1 to 4 other students according to age and nationality. Bathrooms are either shared or private, depending on the building and on availability. Monitors are assigned to each floor of each building, assuring supervision and immediate access to school staff should the students need assistance during the night.
Meals:
Three meals per day are provided at the Excellencia French Summer Camp . All our menus, served in a buffet style, are healthy, varied and prepared on-site by our own nutritionist, with the utmost care and respect for cultural diversity. Depending on the weather conditions, meals can be served outside. For breakfast, children can choose from a wide range of food (fresh bread, cereal, hot beverages, dairy products, cooked meats, omelettes and seasonal fruits). Lunches and dinners consist of a buffet of 8 to 10 different starters (hot and cold), a main course and dessert. On excursion days, children are given an individual packed lunch.
Sports facilities:
The Excellencia French Summer Camp offers an indoor heated swimming-pool, climbing walls, badminton courts, basket, football fields, a golf practice, and a gym. All sport activities are under the supervision of specialized qualified instructors. Various on-site sports competitions promote bonding and challenge. Activities offered include: swimming, water skiing, ski bob, tennis, paddle, golf, fencing, mountain biking, archery, shooting, dance, fitness, muscle strengthening, climbing, aqua gym, canoeing, water polo, combat sports, martial arts, relaxation, football, volley-ball and beach volley-ball, badminton, table tennis, mini trek, treasure hunts and hiking.
French Summer Camp Activities and Excursions:
The ideal location of the French Summer Camp enables children to make the most of our outdoor activities, sports facilities and cultural and artistic workshops. All activities are under the supervision of specialized qualified instructors who know how to impart their passion to children. Over the course of their stay, they can take part in our various on-site sports competitions, evening theme parties and disco nights. Every week, children and teachers go out for cultural and educational day trips, during which they visit cities (Paris, Reims and Épernay), cathedrals, museums… but also enjoy some relaxation and shopping time. Two excursions to theme parks are also organized during each session and are included in the price of the program: Eurodisney and Astérix Park.
French Summer Camp – Supervision:
All the members of our staff are present twenty-four hours a day and constantly monitor students’ well-being within a complex exclusively dedicated to your children.
