San Sebastian – City, Sea, and Mountain – is the ideal destination to study Spanish especially for juniors (14-17yrs). Upon arrival, even the most discerning traveler is engaged in the warmth and beauty of the city. San Sebastian is the best of both worlds for younger travelers. While it presents an array of cultural opportunities across a beautiful, unique backdrop; San Sebastian is small enough to be safe, comfortable, and less overwhelming than its larger European counterparts. During the 12 weeks this course is available our junior program will take advantage of everything that San Sebastian has to offer combining sports, excursions, culture, history and events.

It has been offering Full Immersion Spanish Summer Programs in San Sebastian since 1989. This Spanish School is equipped with technologically advanced classrooms, a study room, indoor social area, a library with computers for student use, and Wi-Fi available throughout the building. The Spanish Summer Program for Teenagers consists of 5 classes a day in groups of 4-12 students, organized activities 3 afternoons per week, and a full-day excursion every Saturday. Juniors are supervised by a school monitor who coordinates teachers, host families, organization of activities, and the overall well-being of the students. However, students will have two free afternoons as well as all day Sunday to get to know their host family and become familiar with Spanish traditions and culture.
The Spanish Summer Program for Teenagers in Spain at Lacunza International House is designed to ensure that students enjoy their Spanish classes as much as they enjoy the rest of the course program. Classroom activities are therefore varied and where possible involve tasks or games that make the learning process interesting and fun. The aim of the course is to develop the students’ language skills in all areas but the emphasis is on developing speaking and comprehension skills, so there are a lot of practical activities that involve a great deal of interaction. As we have students from very many nationalities, it is relatively easy to ensure that everyone uses Spanish to communicate.

Spanish Summer Program for Teenagers in Spain – Accommodations:

- Host families – Single Rooms
- Host families – Shared Rooms (only for siblings or friends traveling together)
In all cases, the accommodation is with full board. Students with dietary restrictions or any other special needs are requested to make these known in advance.
Host families:
Each student will be placed with a family with whom they will live during their stay here. Breakfast and dinner will take place with the family. This system works well because the student receives the support of a family structure and will be looked after when not participating in school functions.
The families we use for this program are carefully chosen with the junior program in mind. The student will receive a warm welcome and become another member of the household. Students must respect the program schedule and inform the family of any outings they have during the designated free time periods.
Accommodation includes breakfast and dinner with the family plus a packed lunch. Families are located 5 to 30 minutes from the school on foot or by public transport.
Curfew policy: The Lacunza International House school operates a policy which ensures that all students are back at their accommodation by 11:30 PM, except on Friday and Saturday, when the deadline is extended until 01:30 AM. This policy is strictly enforced both by the host families and the monitor at the residence.
