French Summer Camp at France Langue Nice
The French Summer Camp in Nice is administered by France Langue Nice. France Langue Nice is part of an International French School with its headquarters located in Paris. In a very friendly but highly professional atmosphere, the French language school welcomes students from all over the world for intensive full immersion French courses in Nice. France Langue is accredited by FLE: this recognition is issued by a government commission that includes the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture and Communication, and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. The label is assigned for a period of 4 years if the institution can meet quality criteria in 5 key areas: teachers, training and teaching, welcome and support, premises/safety/equipment, consistence and organization.

French Language Summer Camp – Course Description:
The French Language Summer Camp in Nice combines 20 French lessons per week (15 hours) with a sports and activity program. Students may choose between Tennis, Sailing or Multi-Sports for the sports portion of the program. Additionally a social program and weekend excursions are also offered. French Lessons:
Initial level test: Monday morning 8:00 am to 9:30 am
French lessons schedule: Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm (15 minute break)
Development of all 4 main language skills (speaking, reading, writing and listening) with a focus on oral communication: teachers encourage students to interact as much as possible and actively use what they learn in class. The lessons will be planned according the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) and focus on the 4 main language skills, namely: oral expression and comprehension, and written expression and comprehension.
The teachers have developed and action-oriented approach with numerous activities created in line with the groups’ levels, favoring oral expression while setting the foundations for writing. The various themes will encourage the practice of theory in situations adapted to foreign students.
The teaching team will hold interactive and engaging lessons through fun educational activities, such as collective group work, pair work, and interaction with other level groups in and outside the classroom.
All French Summer Camp teachers are university graduates, native French speakers.
Dedicated classes for teens in the Club Mont Leuze in Nice: 8 students per class maximum
Accommodations: Full board accommodation at Club Mont Leuze Villas
Students will be housed at the Club Mount Leuze Villas, a 32 acre private club located just 15 minutes from Nice. Each villa holds a maximum of 8 students, with 2 or 3 students per room. Students will be placed in single gender villas by age but different nationality to encourage the sharing of interests and communication in French.
The rooms are equipped with a single or double bed, storage space, a workspace, a lamp and a window providing natural light. Each villa has two full bathrooms.
Bed linen and towels are provided and changed weekly. The cleaning of the whole villas will be done on arrival and on departure, students may be asked to participate in the cleaning of their bedroom.
Meals: All meals will be taken at the Tennis club, which is located 5 minutes from the Villas. French breakfast consists of a hot beverage (coffee, tea), bread/toasts/cereals/pastries, fruit juice (but usually no salty foods). Lunches and dinners are usually made of a main course with one side, a drink and a desert. Example of dinner: salad for starter, main dish of meat or fish with vegetables and /or pasta/rice/potatoes, cheese and/or dessert (yoghurt, fruit, etc.).
French Summer Camp Practical information:
Airport transfers: Round trip transfers from the Nice train station/airport are included in the price of the French Summer Camp. Staff members will pick the students up on arrival and drop them off on departure. Students should arrive on Sunday afternoon and leave on Saturday morning.
Travel details must be confirmed 15 days before arrival (point of arrival, time, flight number).
Transport: Students are accompanied by the group leaders to all activities. Transportation is provided by France Langue and included in the prices of the program.
Supervision/Safety – The program takes place in a fully supervised camp (24hs/7days a week).
All students and staff will carry an official ID badge which will be required to be worn around campus at all times. A group leader runs the activity program and supervises the students. The supervision ratio is 1 to 8 for water activities and 1 to 12 for other activities and excursions. An on-site camp Director oversees the program.
The activity coordinators have first aid training certification if a student gets hurt at school or during outings. If it’s something more serious or the student is sick, a member of the staff will take them to the doctor/local clinic or hospital. Travel and health insurance is mandatory! Remember to purchase travel insurance before travel (contact us for recommendations).
Leaving Camp unattended: The Junior program in Nice is a 24-hour fully supervised camp. In order to guarantee the safety of all students who will attend the program, students won’t be allowed to go out of campus on their own.
Camp Rules: In and outside the campus (according to French law)
Alcohol: The consumption and possession of alcohol is banned in France for persons under 18. Students are not allowed to consume or purchase alcohol.
Drugs: The purchase, consumption and possession of drugs is prohibited in France. The use, sale and possession of drugs may therefore result in prosecution.
Tobacco: In France, the sale of tobacco is prohibited to minors under 18. In addition, the law prohibits smoking in public places, so it is strictly forbidden to smoke within the premises of the school (inside and outside the premises). Non-compliance will result in a fine.
Failure to follow these rules of conduct may result in the school’s director taking action up to and including immediate expulsion from the camp at the students/parents expense
French Summer Camp in Nice – Sports Program Options:
Students can choose among two separate activity Programs: Tennis or Multi-activities sessions
Tennis or Sailing options:
Students may choose one option per week. Tennis or Sailing lessons will take place Monday through Friday from 10.00am to 12.00pm.
Tennis lessons are given by qualified instructors. Level appropriate group lessons will have a maximum ration of 8 students per instructor. Practicing tennis or sailing will allow students of different nationalities to communicate and share a common interest in French, and will encourage group dynamics, cohesion and solidarity.
All equipment needed (except Tennis shoes) will be provided by the tennis and sailing clubs.
Multi-activities option:
5 sport initiation sessions per week: sailing, paddle, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, etc.
The program changes every day and every week: you will practice 5 different sports during the week
Each activity is supervised by a qualified professional or a France Langue representative and will take place Monday through Friday from 10.00am to 12.00pm.
Groups of 8 to 12 students participate on the activities. All equipment necessary will be provided by the school.

French Summer Camp in Nice – Social program and Excursions:
In addition to the sports and multi activity options, students enrolling in the French Summer Camp also participate in a social program as well as weekend excursions.
Social activities will be offered daily to allow students to continue to practice French together outside of the classroom (football matches, beach volley ball contests, quizzes, photo contests, treasure hunts, etc.).
Excursions to discover the French Riviera: full-day excursion on Saturdays to Cannes, Monaco, Nice, or Eze (for all programs lasting 2 weeks or longer).
Evenings to encourage interaction: evening activities organized every day (open air cinema, board games, picnic on the beach, etc.).
