German Courses in Vienna, Austria at Actilingua Academy
The Actilingua Academy German language school is located in the heart of Vienna and caters to adult learners year round and also offers a German language program for teenagers during the summer time. It is open all year and equipped with the latest in educational technology.

The year-round school for adult students is located in a newly renovated, centrally located building close to the Belvedere Palace. It is a modern school with 6 bright, welcoming, tastefully furnished classrooms in a typically Viennese Art Nouveau building. Centrally located in Vienna’s embassy district, opposite “Schloss Belvedere”, and within 15 minutes from the city center (Stephansplatz) by public transportation. The school also has a multimedia room featuring 17 workplaces with computers and free internet access. Free Wi-Fi is available in the whole school. Newspapers, magazines, DVDs and CDs may be borrowed from the school library. A student lounge is available with coffee, cold beverages and snacks. The building is air conditioned and non-smoking. 10-15 additional classrooms are located next door at the ActiLingua-Dependance Sacré Coeur and are used during the summer high season.

Actilingua – German Courses in Vienna
Minimum age: 16 years old. Maximum number of students per class: 12. Each lesson is 45 minutes long. Prices include number of lessons as listed below, vocabulary book, use of multimedia room, e-mail and internet WiFi access, student manual, Actilingua Card entitling students to discounts around town and Actilingua Certificate of completion. Course books may be borrowed free of charge or purchased at a 50% discount from the school.
Standard German Course – Group 8 to 12 –— 20 German lessons a week plus 5 cultural lessons. 12 students maximum per class. All levels from beginner to advanced are offered. Private German Courses — 10 or 20 Private German lessons per week. One-to-one training where the content of the course as well as the tempo is personalized according to the student‘s needs and wishes. Students are afforded the maximum amount of flexibility and individual support. Private German courses start every Monday for all levels from Beginner to Advanced.

Complete beginners MUST start on the following dates: 2 January / 29 January / 26 February / 25 March / 29 April / 27 May / 1 July / 29 July / 2 September / 30 September / 28 October / 2 December.
Holidays 2024 – The school is closed on the following dates, classes missed due to holidays are not made up: 1 January, 1 April, 1 May, 9 May, 20 May, 30 May/ 15 August/ 26 October, 1 November, 23-27 December, 1 January 2025. Classes lost due to holidays are NOT made up.
Actilingua Vienna Accommodations
We organize accommodation such as apartments and rooms at carefully selected Austrian host families, in basic student apartments or at international student houses. Accommodation standards are checked by us regularly to ensure that you enjoy the time you live in Vienna!
Housing is available in host families, the Actilingua Penthouse, Actilingua Apartment, The Social Hub, and the Student House (not operated by the school and available in July and August only!). Host families and student apartment shares are located approximately 20-40 minutes away from the school via public transportation. Student House residence is located 20-30 minutes away by public transport.
Host Families: Accommodation in a host family is definitely the best way for practising your German and getting to know Austria and its people outside the classroom. You stay with a host family in their own home. Host families can be childless couples, parents with schoolchildren or older people whose grown-up children have already left home.
ActiLingua Penthouse: Enjoy your stay in a newly built Penthouse shared with other students. This bright and stylish space will make a great home especially for the most motivated German learners who decide to stay with us for longer. Choose a single room or deluxe single room with private balcony and relax after your German classes. You will share an open kitchen, spacious living area, a balcony and two bathrooms with your flat mates. Such facilities as fitness room, music room with a piano, and an event room are available for all the guests. There is a tram stop just across the street and the commute to ActiLingua takes approx. 30 minutes. Meals: Self-catering or lunch/dinner in a restaurant near the school.
ActiLingua Apartment: Enjoy your stay in the friendly and bright 2-bedroom apartment located in a modern new building, which you share with another student. The bright and stylish apartment is the perfect home away from home for German students who want to stay with us for longer and enjoy Vienna in a private environment. Choose between a spacious single room or a single room with a private balcony. You will share a spacious eat-in kitchen, a bathroom, a toilet, an entrance and a terrace with your flatmate. The ActiLingua school is about 30 minutes away by public transport. Meals: Self-catering or lunch/dinner in a restaurant near the school.
The Social Hub: Staying in this modern and vibrant hotel The Social Hub will certainly spark joy and let you feel the young and bright energy of Vienna. You live under one roof with students of ActiLingua and the university of Vienna alike, in your own studio apartment (17-31 m²). Each studio apartment is equipped with a generous and comfortable bed, desk, air-conditioning and free Wi-Fi. You enjoy your own private bathroom and fully equipped private kitchenette or shared kitchen. There are community spaces available such as a fitness room and city bikes can be borrowed for the whole duration of your stay. Meals: Self-catering, breakfast or half board.
Student House: Only available July and August! Students have their own single or twin room in a modern, urban, and favorably located Student House with a very nice in-house restaurant. School and city center are accessible in 20-30 minutes by public transport. Meals: Breakfast or half-board.

Actilingua Vienna – Activities
On the first Monday after arrival, the school offers an introductory sightseeing tour of Vienna. The school welcomes students with a party that includes an introduction to the Viennese Waltz by an experienced teacher.
Weekend Excursions: Actilingua organizes weekend excursions to famous European cities not far from Vienna: Salzburg, the city of Mozart; Budapest, the capital of Hungary; and “golden” Prague, the capital of Czechoslovakia. Additional trips are offered to other beautiful locations on the Danube such as the monastery at Melk, the “Wachau” (the Danube Valley), trips into the mountains or boating. Prices for excursions typically range from approximately 10 to 70 Euros each.
Sports: There is easy access by subway to swimming facilities, cycling, sailing, surfing and water skiing on the Viennese Donauinsel (island in the Danube). Once a week, sports-minded participants and teachers meet for football, volleyball or aerobics.
Airport Transfer: from Vienna airport is available upon request and at additional cost: USD 65 one way or USD 130 round trip.
