Total Language Immersion – Live and Learn With Your Teacher

This is a unique opportunity for a total language immersion experience, living with and being taught by your own private teacher. The Home Language International program is completely different from any other language experience. You live and study in your teacher’s house. Students participate in the family’s daily and social activities, taking part during their stay in the life of a typical family. With the Home Language International Program there is no traveling to and from school every day and no contact with any students who speak your own language. Also, you may start the program on a date that is convenient to you. This program is suitable for ages 13 and older. Couples or 2 students traveling together can also participate on this program at reduced cost as long as they arrive and depart together and both participants are at the same language level. You will be given an experience in LIVING the language you are studying. There is absolutely no contact with people speaking your own language. The teacher will correct and guide the student not only during the lessons but AT ALL TIMES when the teacher and student are together. Given sufficient notice, you can be placed with a teacher who shares your interests. All Home Language International teachers have either a teaching certificate recognized by the government or a university degree (or an accepted equivalent). In addition, all the teachers have earned the Regency Certificate, which means that their qualifications have been verified and the homes have been thoroughly inspected by the local organizer.
All homes and teachers have been carefully selected. Home Language International tries to look for the perfect family to match your interests and age. All families are upper middle class with very nice homes. Some luxury homes have also been made available with wealthy families who are interested in the challenge of the experience.

(Transfers to and from the local airport or train station are available upon request and at additional cost.). ADDITIONAL HOME LANGUAGE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM OPTIONS:
Two Students in the Home option: The Home Language International total language immersion programs are available also to students traveling together (couples, friends, even families!. When two students are taking lessons together, use the pricing above and deduct 20% per person! Both students must arrive and depart together and must be at the SAME language level as they will share the teacher. Additionally this option is now offered with accommodations only for the companion if desired. In other words, you may bring a companion without that person taking lessons. Companion pays a reduced fee for accommodations only. Please contact us for pricing if interested in this option.

Cocooning Program for Teens and Children under the age of 18 – Cocooning Program: Closer supervision for students under the age of 18. Cocooning guarantees that the teacher or an adult member of the family is at home at all times while the student is there. This option does not guarantee activities. PLEASE NOTE: Cocooning is compulsory for students under the age of 12. Cocooning supplement: USD 150 per week in Latin America, Canada and Asia, USD 190 per week in Europe.
Activity Program: Students may substitute a portion of their lessons for hours of activities accompanied by the teacher. A minimum of 5 hours of activities per week must be booked. For example: the 15 hour per week program can be divided into 10 hours of lessons and 5 hours of activities outside of the home. An additional supplement per week will apply in order to cover the expenses incurred during the activity program (transportation, entrance fees, etc.). Please contact us for details and pricing as the supplement vary by destination.
Private Bathrooms: Some homes offer the possibility of private bathrooms at additional charge (approximately USD 235 extra per week in Europe, and USD 190 per week in Latin America, Canada and Asia). This option is not available at all locations!
5-Star Luxury Homes: Home-stays in 5-star luxury homes are also available at additional charge at select locations (The price for 5 Star luxury accommodations is DOUBLE the standard course price).
HOME LANGUAGE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM DISCOUNTS:
SENIOR DISCOUNT (60+): students over 60 years of age, qualify for a 5% discount on all programs at any location. Cannot be combined with any other discounts.
LONG TERM PROGRAM DISCOUNT: 10% discount applies to 3rd and 4th week and 5% discount applies to all subsequent weeks (4 weeks or longer). Discount applicable to course and accommodations only (not on transfers). Cannot be combined with any other discounts.
COMPANION DISCOUNT: applies to any person accompanying a student but not having lessons. 20 % discount for companions over the age of 4 (75% discount for children under 4 years of age).
MULTIPLE STUDENT DISCOUNT: 20% discount each for two students attending a program together. 25% discount for 3 or 4 students attending a program together (subject to multiple student placement availability).
