Accademia Italiana has been offering Italian courses in Salerno since 1997. The school specializes in teaching Italian as a foreign language and is one of the most accredited institutions in the South of Italy within this field. For this reason, every year, many students choose Accademia Italiana to learn Italian, thus combining the study of the Italian language with a wonderful learning holiday in one of the most beautiful places in Campania, next to the famous Amalfi Coast. The Accademia Italiana school is located on via Roma, one of the most beautiful streets in Salerno and located just a short distance from the historical center of town. It occupies a charming older building just across the street from the sea. The school facilities include 14 classrooms, a multimedia room with 8 computers all connected to Internet (cable and WiFi), a cinema room, a library with both books and videos available to students and a “café” where students can relax and meet each other.
All the staff and teachers at Accademia Italiana are highly qualified and specialized in teaching Italian as a foreign language. Intensive Italian Courses – Students may choose any of the course options listed below. Important Notes: Minimum enrollment: one week (except on special programs as indicated below, where minimum enrollment is 2 weeks). Minimum enrollment age is 16. Each lesson is 45 minutes long. All prices include: school registration fee, welcome information package, all training material, initial level assessment test, certificate of completion and most extra curricular activities taking place at the school (movie night, cultural seminars. etc.).
Standard Italian Courses – 20 Italian group lessons per week (each lesson=45 minutes), 4 to 10 students per class. 6 levels from Beginner to Advanced are offered year round.
Intensive Italian Courses – 30 Italian group lessons per week (each lesson=45 minutes), 4 to 10 students per class. 6 levels from Beginner to Advanced are offered year round.
Super Intensive Italian Courses – 20 Italian group lessons per week (each lesson=45 minutes), PLUS 5 One-to-One Italian lessons per week: 4 to 10 students per class in the group portion of the program. 6 levels from Beginner to Advanced are offered year round.
One-to-One Italian Courses – 20 or 30 Italian private lessons per week (each lesson=45 minutes). All levels from Beginner to Advanced are offered year round. These courses are completely tailor-made and teachers work closely with students to fulfill their needs so that they can improve their language level quickly. 50 Plus Italian Courses: This program is specially designed for mature people who want to experience Italian language and culture together with other students of a similar age. Minimum enrollment age: 50 year of age. Two week course which includes 20 Italian language lessons per week plus an activity program which includes: 1 two hour cooking or pottery class, a Salerno city tour, 1 school activity, 2 culture seminars, a visit to either a mozzarella ,oil or lemoncello factory, or a vineyard followed by a tasting.

Junior Italian Courses (11 to 16 years of age): This is a two week program specifically designed for teenagers. Accademia Italiana offers teenagers the possibility of learning the Italian language in the South of Italy with an intensive program on the beautiful Cilento Coast. Students aged 11 to 16 can combine Italian study with a holiday in a popular holiday resort on the Coast. By attending this program they will experience the History, Art, Music, Ceramics, Theater, Cooking and enjoy the beautiful beaches and landscapes in Cilento, in a traditional and real-life setting. Participants receive 4 Italian language lessons a day (9.00 – 12.15), five days a week from Monday to Friday (20 lessons a week) together with a series of high-impact recreational activities. Furthermore they can enjoy all the activities arranged in the village with the free use of the swimming-pool, beach, TV room, etc. Students stay at the Elea Club Village in Ascea in the beautiful Park of Cilento from Sunday to Saturday (14 days/13 nights), in a four-bed bungalows with private bathroom with full board: buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner (soft drinks not included). Accademia Italiana Salerno – Accommodations
The Accademia Italiana school offers different types of accommodation in Salerno: with carefully selected Italian host-families, in shared apartments or in hotels. All accommodations are located in the city center within walking distance from the school ( max 20/25 minutes walking). A special “housing office” in the school assigns each student his/her preferred accommodation. The accommodations’ office has the task to check and inspect the assigned accommodation in order to guarantee the quality and the fulfillment of student requirements. Lodging is available to students from the Sunday prior to the course start date (from 12.00 noon) until the Saturday (10.00 am) after the end of course. (Extra days must be requested at the time of enrollment and will be confirmed based on availability). Accommodation includes: sleeping facilities, required meals, bed linen and blankets, water, gas and electricity use.
Host Family Placements: Staying with a family is an excellent choice for students who want to know and understand the real Italian culture, and to practice the language out of the classroom as well. All Italian families live in the town center, just a few minutes walking from the school. Students can choose a single or double room with just breakfast or half board (breakfast and dinner).
Apartment Shares: This is ideal for those who prefer to be independent. All the apartments have an equipped kitchen and are situated in the town center just a few minutes walk from the school. Students stay in a single or a double room (if traveling together), sharing the kitchen with the other students. An independent apartment rental is also possible on request. Shared or private bathroom options available.

Accademia Italiana Salerno – Activities:
The Accdemia Italiana school staff and teachers organize social activities every day: seminars and workshop about Italian culture, city tour, films, etc. Most cultural and recreational activities are included in the cost of the language course. Students only pay for the entrance fess to museums, cinemas or theatres, for public transport, guides and for evening meals in restaurants. On the first day of the course, students receive full information about the city, the activities and the facilities at the school.
Tasting Visits: The Accademia Italiana organizes special guided visits to local lemoncello, mozzarella di bufala, olive oil factories. Visits are followed by final tasting of typical products. These visits take place in the afternoon all year round and they take at least 2 hours each.
Once a week the school organizes special dinners in nice restaurants where, for a special price, students with their teachers and Italian friends can taste typical dishes while practicing Italian.
The school also organizes regular optional excursions to Capri, Pompeii, Paestum, Amalfi, Ravello, Vietri, Sorrento, Positano, Naples and Caserta. All the excursion are accompanied by a teacher or with expert guides. These excursions are optional and offered at extra cost. Pricing for excursions will be available at the school.
Airport Pick-up: School arranged transfers from the Naples airport or the Naples train station are available upon request and at additional cost: Price: USD 122 each way between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, and USD 145 each way between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
