Spanish Courses in Buenos Aires at Expanish
The Expanish Language School offers Spanish courses in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. One of the most popular areas of the city, full of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Located just one block away from the Olleros subway station, it is only 20 minutes form downtown Buenos Aires.
The school is housed in an amazing 1920’s recently remodeled building (January 2022). The 3 story French-style building, houses classrooms, common areas, and office space. The facilities include: 12 fully equipped, bright classrooms, a student common area with a fully equipped kitchen (for cooking classes!), and a wonderful garden available for student use.
The building has AC and central heating throughout, free Wi-Fi, student computers, and tablets with internet access. Snacks and hot and cold beverages are available at the school. The building is handicapped accessible.
Expanish has an extensive selection process for their highly qualified teachers. All teachers are native Spanish speakers and are required to have a minimum of a university degree and a certificate to teach Spanish as a foreign language, and/or have sufficient teaching experience. They are evaluated often and regularly participate in training workshops coordinated by the Director of Studies.
Expanish teachers use the communicative method where students will learn by doing rather than memorizing grammar or completing fill-in-the-blank worksheets. Spanish is the only language used in class, so students will be speaking and communicating beginning their very first day, and the focus is on the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and oral comprehension. Students are evaluated every week with either a project or formal exam and provided feedback.
